Lou Wainman and Johnny D in Maui!

Here is my first session report as a married man and it was the sweetest Maui session I could have wished for. So for awhile now I have been riding Wainman and was stoked to have all my gear shipped our Fed-Ex to ride the wind and swell. There was no wind and Gorette and I were hitting all the tourist spots and driving motorcycles around these crazy mountain roads when the wind finally came. I woke up Sat to get my gear along the way to my session near pro beach. I got there to find it closed and my gear basically repo'd for the entire weekend where we got all the honeymoon stuff in check

I thought to scream and then I did panic. I ran into a Cabrinha shop and learned I needed IKO cert or whatever to swing gear that I did not want to rent after $300 shipping. WTF!!!! So I grabbed my iphone and rang Lou's brother who due to some Montreal friends decided that Lou might be willing. 10 minutes later a call to beach side and Lou was on his way! He showed up and I realized that he was very much like myself and willing to sport gear. Basically congratulated me and ran my lines while I pump Lous Boss 12m.

I still cannot believe the Maui hospitality!!! He had his famous superman board and I grabbed his 120 Blunt with shaved fins. Lou gave me pointers to fly the kite in different configurations with deflated struts and taunted me with his surfboard by telling me how to ask for it in the water. So there I was in Lous harness and gear standing on Pro Beach while he launched me into the gorgeous Maui surf and sun! F'ing heaven I thought! They say a brand should have something behind it and Lou is that kind of guy to be so willing to help a Rabbit Gang member "get wet!"

So its 11AM and my next call is to hit the beach again today.. But there is no rush here in Maui and I know where the best place to go and one hell of a host..
