With a forecast holding strong for good NE winds, we planned on making a day of it up at Winthrop. I picked Jermy up around 9AM and we headed out. We stopped by Yirell Beach and the wind was still NW, steady but side-off. We decided to drive up the coast through Revere and check out Nahant, thinking Dog Beach might be the only beach working.

Met up with Skipper and we all sat on Revere beach and watched the wind over at Nahant. After seeing a kite launch we headed over and found a decent side-shore wind on the ocean side. Kited for about an hour until the wind turned sketchy.

Packed up the cars and drove to Yirell Beach, hoping that it had shifted NE. It had, and we had a rocking three hour session. Jermy cruised all the way up to 5 Sisters, Skipper hit the flat water inside the jetty, and I rode the point break.

Eventually my center lines snapped and I had a long swim. Thankfully the wind had come around to a ENE and was pushing back towards the beach. Jermy let me have a go on his rig for a bit, so I got to try his Wainman Blunt baard and his new 888 Ozone Edge.

How did you like the blunt?

How did you like the blunt? Prob the most aggressively contoured board ever but it throws spray like a plow Smile I like it allot.
