Born & raised in France, came to the US (CA) for grad school in '87, moved to MA in '91.
Married to Katie, 2 kids (Alexander '96, Megan '97).

Love the ocean and mountains. A sailor since my early teens. Raced 420s and later big boats. Bareboat charterer on tropical or European family vacations.
Some windsurfing at the dawn of the sport and in my teens.

Have wanted to give kiteboarding a try for years. Finally took the plunge in the Spring of 2011.
Despite relatively few good days and limited time on the water this summer, I'm totally addicted and eager to progress in the sport.

How and where did you Learn?:

1 land lesson with trainer kite (Boston Kite School). 1 water/body dragging lesson at Nahant (Boston Kite School). 1 90min riding lesson with Air Support in West Dennis. Then practice on my own, with support and lots of friendly advice from Lodewyk Steyn and others. Lots and lots of reading online, and use of Progression Kiteboarding instructional videos.

How much gear have you trashed?:

As another member put it, just give it time.

Hi Christophe, I've launched

Hi Christophe,

I've launched from Pavilion beach in NE and had a lot of fun kiting the tip of P.I. and over to Cranes for waves. I didn't know if NW would be clean enough to launch from the tip of P.I. but it sounds intriguing.
