Shoot me ur email have some good shots from the other day
HI Devon,
I'm a beginner as well. I don't suggest buying new, especially if you're short on cash. I'm in the same boat. I have slowly progressed in the sport because cash follow is a big part of getting started. At first a friend was teaching me the basics of the sport, but he wasn't a professional instructor in anyway. I finally took a real lesson. I paid about $200 for a 2 hour lesson. But I had already had flown a large kite a few times and started body dragging before my lesson. Otherwise I would have taken probably a 3 or 6 hr lesson.
I learnt so much more in a short amount of time with a professional instructor. The other part of this sport is kiting buddies-especially for beginners.
This site is great for meeting up with other kiters. I have a 2008 10M North Rebel and hopefully buying a used board this week. I wouldn't mind letting you use my gear after you've gotten a lesson. As long as you keep an eye out for me while I'm riding. Just looking for someone to watch my back. =)
Happy Kiting!
Lauren
