National Seashore Kiteboarding Access

The eastern shore of Cape Cod has some good open ocean riding in wind of any Easterly direction, but only for advanced riders – the seas are always wavy, and the wind near shore is fickle as it climbs over the dunes. This coastline is managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore, a part of the United States National Park system.  The officials there have deemed kiteboarding a threat to wildlife, and a nuisance to the general public.  To that end they have sought to ban us.  Through delicate negotiation, we have gained access to a narrow swath of shore line at Nauset Light Beach – NOT Nauset Beach. Walk a good distance to the left (North) of the life guard chairs and if you steer clear of the swimming area, you will be commended as a good citizen of this great nation.
